Chairman of the Board
The Chairman
of the Board of our firms is an alumnus of the United States Merchant Marine Academy
and is well known as one of the most respected and influential leaders of the maritime
industry. He has served on the Maritime Advisory Committee of the U.S. Maritime Administration.
His extensive experience and negotiating skills have earned him a reputation as a
formidable representative of his clients' interests. Mr. Nottingham has been a ship
chartering broker and maritime consultant for over 45 years. He is also a recognized
maritime arbitrator, presently very actively involved in this endeavor.
Mariano Echevarria
President and CEO
The President and Chief
Executive Officer was born in Cuba, educated in public accounting and has a Ph.D.
in Economics with post graduate studies in cost accounting at Columbia University.
Prior to leaving Cuba in 1959, he was Director of Price Administration of the Ministry
of Commerce and a member of the faculty at the University of Villanova, Havana, Cuba.
His understanding and knowledge of international trade and finance gives him a perspective
of the ocean transportation industry not readily available to those with a more limited
background in transportation.
Stephen P. Druhot
Executive Vice President
The Executive Vice
President of our firms has been in management positions in the transportation industry
for more than 33 years, the last 18 of which have been spent in the commodity procurement
and ship/air chartering business. During the early part of his career, his activities
were directed in worldwide chartering for one of the largest maritime shipping companies
in the United States. Mr. Druhot is also responsible for liaison with policy making
managers of United States Government agencies and embassy representatives. He is
a graduate of the University of Southern Louisiana with a Bachelor of Science degree
in Economics.
James Redman
Vice President for Operations
The
Vice President for Operations has over seventeen years experience in maritime operations,
chartering and commodity procurement. This experience includes procurement of commodities
especially bulk grains and fuel oil, ocean freight chartering of dry cargo and liquid
tonnage, interface with U.S. governmental agencies, foreign embassies, commodity
suppliers and the vessel owners on U.S. Government financed humanitarian food and
energy aid, and commercial business. Mr. Redman is a graduate of Georgetown University
in Washington, D.C.
Technical Staff
Our senior management is supported by a staff of
transportation specialists such as operations clerks, communications personnel, market
analysts, liaison personnel, and licensed merchant marine officers. This staff of
operating professionals handle the ongoing operation of our firms in a smooth and
efficient manner.
